Flames of War 3rd Edition

I recieved my free copy of the new 3rd edition FOW mini rulebook this week from those nice people at Battlefront.
After emailing their Customer Support they sent me a copy about a week later, well done to them.
After having an initial scan through the book it looks very well laid out with lots of photo's to explain the rules, which is a nice addition over the 2nd edition. All in all a nice looking rulebook. Also available from the FOW website is a handy quick reference sheet so you dont need to refer to the book all the time?

There are changes to the Aircraft rules with planes not needing to range in on the target unless they are within 2" of cover. The Russian "Hen and Chicks" rule has also changed, now if the command tank moves, the rest of the platoon must move, with a +1 "To Hit", instead of not being able to fire? probably making it harder to beat a Russian Horde, but time will tell?

There are also some changes to close combat, with these being better explained with the aid of stage by stage pictures. Also there are more scenarios at the back of the book, so you now have Free for all, Encounter,
Dust Up, No retreat, Hold the Line, Pincer, Surrounded, Fighting Withdrawal, Hasty Attack, Cauldron, Breakthrough, Counter Attack, and No Mans Land to choose from.  Initial thoughts on the new edition are its a well laid out rulebook, and its free as well. So grab yourself a copy, either from a registered FOW supplier, or just email FOW customer support and they should be able to hook you up with a copy in no time?
